Day 9 Se'kara 10,156
Poet,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. Per your request, I have attempted to contact Locutius regarding your upcoming production. Unfortunately, I have been unable to do so, but I will continue to try. He may have taken fee from the company of Gilberto which will be in the Ko-ro-ba until next En'kara. If so, perhaps it is his loss. While I have kept my vow to keep the idea for your next project to myself, I admit to letting a few rumors loose. It is good for business. In the meantime, to start the new theater season properly, we will be producing a fourth run of 'Fall of Agamedes' with two local actors who were understudy to Locutius and Nikos of Tyros last season.
I have sent some men to look after your plantings north of the city. We had a short bout with rain last week and some high winds, but the stakes and trellises remain secure. Nothing to worry over. With the ka-la-na saplings on the east slope and olives on the west, you should have a small but pleasant harvest this time next year. I will lend you the money if you wish to start building. Do not fear that it will be a charitable donation. I will, of course, as my Caste dictates that I must, charge you a competitive interest rate. I am smiling as I write this by the way.
I assume you met with the fellow calling himself Bosk of Port Kar and the Merchant Samos shortly after your return to the city. I want you to know that I did not betray your confidence in the matter. They simply deduced where you would be headed following your brief stay in Venna. I sincerely hope that you are well as they were no more forthcoming of their intentions than I was with what I knew as to your whereabouts. Determined fellows. I will give them that. Do send confirmation that you've received this letter and, if you would be so kind, assure a friend and business partner that you are not being fed suspended over a pool of hungry eels in the bowels of some Thassan Shore compound.
To the future,
v/R
Vesutto
ps. As per your request, I sent the spoils of your recent trip via a caravan bound for Tor. Three large crates should have arrived at your domicile on Aulus Street in the Theater District. The remainder I instructed the drover to deliver to the Boarding House in the Anbar.
