Two Days

Hospitality is not always returned in kind. While the windows were unbroken and the unlocked door was unforced, the interior was left in need of a little housekeeping. I was wise to bring an auburn-maned housekeeper with me on my journey to the interior of the forests north of Ar. Tasta, too, accompanied me. Both of my girls seemed eager for the adventure. There is history in this cabin. Modest in structure, secluded amongst the trees, it was/is a respite for my brother. Where I have a wanderlust that pulls me onto the road from time to time, his need to roam seems insatiable. I miss him dearly, but the sentiment changes nothing between us.
Sandal worked diligently to set the cabin right. Much of the refuse left behind was old clothing. It was burnt up in the hearth. She swept, scrubbed, dusted and did other such things fit for a woman. I am not sure of the chore itinerary she assigned herself as I did not deign to supervise her drudgery. I know that the cabin is clean again, fit for civilized inhabitation.
