Thought of the Libertine
originally posted January 24, 2006
I had a thought, the germ of an idea really, for my next play. With my reputation as libertine, seemingly having neither moral restraint nor any sense of decorum, it could work beautifully. They would scoff, yes. Perhaps rail in protest, assuredly, but they would be none the wiser. I hesitate to even commit the thought to paper. I think it crosses the line between debauchery and villainy, dissidence and illegality. Still, could it not work? Could I not pull it off?
Moreover...
...I wonder if the General would play himself?
